I don’t have any spoilers, but maybe the Jennings can commit to their mission and overthrow capitalism before the season finale.

Or as I call to call the show, “Fellacity”

I think Fella City is where
Deadspin
is headquartered.

Im just sad it’s ending soon - wish they would have skipped ahead a bit so they could have done some episodes in the Gorbachev era, working in references to Chernobyl and the ethnic riots in Kazakhstan and whatnot, and how the thawing of the Cold War and crumbling of the USSR would affect their spy programs in the US, but, you don’t always know from the start how long a series is going to last.

So I never watched this show. Is the premise that this couple is KGB undercover or something? How do they make them out as protagonists that you want to watch on a regular basis?

Don’t you dare speak Felicity’s name in vain!!!
Two of the best TV shows of my lifetime, for different reasons.

They are living as Americans and have been for 20 years, they have kids, a cover business and live an upper middle class life in suburban DC in the early 80s. Their neighbor is a counter espionage FBI agent. They kill, lie and spy in dangerous missions and the hook is will they get caught, what happens to their kids if they get caught? It is on prime all previous seasons and is binge worthy

I just finished season three, sad that there are only a few seasons left until the end. Definitely enjoying this show, one of my favorites of Amazon right now.

I watched the first few episodes of the first season when it first aired, but just couldn’t get into it, and the production values (modern cars on the streets) bugged me, so I gave it up. Then, last year, after hearing a friend rave about it, I binge watched the whole series and got hooked. It really got good and fast.

I actually shotgunned seasons 2-5 last week to prep for tomorrow’s premiere. Best bingeable show since Justified.

You know, I don’t know that you are necessarily rooting for any of the main characters specifically (except maybe Paige and Henry...because oblivious and innocent children). What keeps the show moving isn’t a desire to see any one side “win” as it is more of, “holy crap holy crap holy crap what’sgonnahappennext!”

The secret is that they are not protagonists. They’re fully immersed in the Free World, with only distant memories of life in the Soviet Union. Any memories of a peasant’s life are even more distant, as they have been “heroes” since joining the KGB. Yet they still have to convince themselves that they are force of good.
Tankies still root for them unironicly however.

This season is in the Gorbachev era.

Oh yeah, just checked - apparently they are skipping ahead to 1987. So, we’re looking at pretty close post-Chernobyl/post-Jeltoqsan.

That is an interesting psychological state they must be in to keep doing what they do when they believe in the lives they are now living. I think I would pity them.
